Healthline Lessons
Expertise:

Overview:
Healthline Lessons is a learning platform that engages users through digestible, five-minute lessons. These lessons guide people through small, achievable steps that have an impact on their holistic wellness.
Outcome:
The project delivered a responsive, user-friendly platform with clear navigation, custom wellness illustrations, and engaging visuals. Key features like progress tracking and bite-sized lessons drove a 35% increase in completion rates, a 20% boost in engagement, and positive feedback for its simplicity and effectiveness.
My Role:
Established the project's visual aesthetic by crafting unique illustrations and meticulously selecting and editing stock photography in partnership with the editorial and UX design team.

The Challenge:
Header Images

The challenge was making the content engaging, clear, and credible. Illustrations helped create a unique, branded experience that felt warm and inviting. They made complex topics easier to understand and added a friendly, approachable tone that fit Healthline’s brand. By refining the visuals for accessibility and adaptability, we ensured the content was inclusive and worked well across different devices and screens.

The Process:
We designed header illustrations and infographics to make Healthline Lessons more engaging, vibrant, and easy to understand. The illustrations highlighted each lesson's topic, creating a cohesive story, while the infographics simplified complex information, aligning with the style and tone of the content.

Collaboration:
I worked with product designers to make sure the illustrations fit well and supported the user experience on desktop and mobile. We tested them in Figma and on real devices. For example, in a diabetes lesson, I removed background details to keep the illustration clear on small screens. I also used feedback from user research to make the illustrations more engaging and easier to understand.

How It Works:
Users first input their email and then received access to the dashboard that showed their lessons and tracked their progress. The learning is self-paced and helped kept users motivated using features like email reminders, graduation flows, and milestone rewards.

Versatility & Scalability:
I also made sure the illustrations were adaptable and scalable—not just for Healthline’s lessons, headers, and infographics, but also for social media and other digital touchpoints. They were designed as reusable components to work seamlessly across the entire Healthline ecosystem, ensuring flexibility and consistency in the brand’s visuals.

Impact:
After launch, we saw promising results from users. Notably, we noticed a 50+% completion rate for lessons, compared with 18% for a Healthline article. Of registered users, 86% viewed at least one lesson.
