Healthline Lessons
Expertise:

Overview:
Healthline Media is the leading health website in the U.S., with 72.9 million monthly visitors. Known for reliable research, diverse perspectives, and compassion, it’s a trusted resource that helps people make healthier choices while continually improving its design to better connect with users.
My Role:
As part of the design team, I worked with designers and photo editors on the editorial team to create visuals that connected with our audience. I contributed ideas that shaped our creative direction and helped develop design guidelines and templates to ensure consistency during a brand refresh.
Outcome:
The project delivered a design system and style guide with templates for graphics, social media, and web visuals, aligning with Healthline’s refreshed brand. This scalable system cut content production time by 20%, improved brand recognition by 15%, received positive feedback, and built user trust with consistent, approachable design.

How It Works
Users first input their email and then received access to the dashboard that showed their lessons and tracked their progress. The learning is self-paced and helped kept users motivated using features like email reminders, graduation flows, and milestone rewards.

The Design:
We designed header illustrations and infographics to make Healthline Lessons more engaging, vibrant, and easy to understand. The illustrations highlighted each lesson's topic, creating a cohesive story, while the infographics simplified complex information, aligning with the style and tone of the content.

Impact:
After launch, we saw promising results from users. Notably, we noticed a 50+% completion rate for lessons, compared with 18% for a Healthline article. Of registered users, 86% viewed at least one lesson.
